Picking out the accessories for my ceremony and the supplies for my reception wasn’t half as hard as trying to choose something nice for my bridesmaids. I had a really difficult time finding exactly what I wanted to get for them. I saw all kinds of possiblities for wedding favors for bridesmaids and wedding guests on the Internet. Narrowing it down was the big challenge. I found some bargains on thank you presents, too. I also saved a lot of money on my wedding accessories, like the 8 piece wedding set that had my guestbook and pen, flower basket, ring pillow and more. I saved a ton on that. They were a lot cheaper as a set than they would have been if I would have purchased them individually.
I knew my bridesmaids would be thrilled if I got them an elegant jewelry box, and I found just that while I was perusing through the thank you gifts. In fact there were a few nice wedding jewelry boxes that I could choose from. My head was swirling from all of the options out there for thank you presents, and I had to just go work on some other part of the wedding to get my focus back. I still had to get supplies and accessories for the reception even though the wedding ceremony was all but taken care of. One thing that was on my plate, so to speak, was finding a wedding cake topper, and another was picking out wedding gifts for my friends and relatives, so I paid attention to those two next. Bottle openers made of chrome in the form of birds of peace and salt and pepper shakers that looked like a couple on their wedding day were what I went with. The package that the dove bottle openers came in was so pretty that I just used that and didn’t even get any special boxes. The groomsmen all got a Swiss Army Knife type things from my groom, complete with a file and cork screw.
We got a cake topper of pair of newly weds locked in a loving embrace. I looked at several different styles, and almost bought the monogram cake topper with silver brushed initials and crystals, but I fell for the embracing couple instead. With all of the rest of it out of the way, it was time to make the call on a present for my bridemaids. I did go with leather jewelry boxes for each of them, and also bought a piece of unique wedding jewelry to put inside. The piece I got each of the bridesmaids was a glittery rhinestone bangle. It was just perfect for them even though it probably sounds like a bit much. The volume of options in discount wedding jewelry was so great, and so good, that I got them some of that and saved a little cash in the process. I also got a some pearl wedding jewelry for myself, and wore it in my wedding ceremony. The quality of the jewelry is top-notch, and the prices are deeply discounted. The women in our wedding were elated with what I got them, and the men seemed pretty content with their thank you presents, too.
All my dreams came true on my wedding day; it was absolutely glorious. Two single people drew some attention: my husband’s brother snatched the garter out of the air, and my sister won the bouquet toss. I wonder if this could be the start of something big? Who knows, maybe one day they will be in our spot and my sister would then be my sister in law as well, that’s really weird. You never know!

When leather jewelry boxes would make nice wedding gifts…
Thursday, August 27th, 2009Amazing Unique Baby Shower Gifts…
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009Baby showers are growing bigger and bigger every year, it seems like there are more and more ideas and themes to choose from when hosting a shower. The adorable little presents that everyone gets for baby showers make them a blast to attend. As for baby shower gifts, there is no shortage of them if you’re looking at putting on a shower. Check out the web and you’ll find plenty of ideas and advice for how to throw a baby shower party, along with great options for gifts. The gathering will be a real treat for everyone there once you get all of your favors and supplies for the baby shower picked out. Place card holders or shower favors or whatever you want can be found on the net.
Looking for a best baby shower gift? Something like a kid-themed cartoon photo book or growth chart for the wall, or even a teddy bear night-light would be an excellent choice if they’re looking for something to decorate the newborn’s room. Other creative baby shower gifts include such things as a diaper cake, which you make yourself by arranging diapers in layers like a cake and adding baby supplies, like pacifiers, little toys, or maybe even bath time supplies. This festive-looking cake can have almost anything for an infant added to it. Personalized baby shower gifts are always nice to give the mother to be. Cute little first curl and first tooth containers are an outstanding choice, in my opinion. The baby’s mom will enjoy having a silver plated container to cherish forever. Many have a lining inside, usually pink for girls and blue for boys. Those small, unique things are what you want to always have a memory of, like the child’s footprints and handprints. It’s not just presents like playpens and cribs that will be well-taken; also some of the small gifts can be the best received of all. You can insist on getting a good present and still find plenty cheap baby shower gifts to choose from. Certain supplies are like gold to a new mom. A lot of guests choose to buy baby clothes such as socks, shoes, dresses, etc. instead of going the more expensive route with cribs, strollers, or car seats. One thing’s for sure: the new mom can use all of them.
Some of the best baby shower gifts are those that are an essential part of everyday life such as a diaper bag, diapers, or even a carrier. There is a treasure trove of options out there on the world wide web if you’re looking to get a present for a woman who’s about to have a baby. If you are the one who’s throwing the baby shower, make sure you get a little something for those who attend. You could get scrapbooks or small picture frames for your baby shower party gifts. Something a bit tastier would be candies or chocolates inside a pretty box with a ribbon. Baby shower favor ideas abound. When you get a bunch of presents that you’re going to use as thank you gifts, you can also keep some of them out to be given away as prizes for winning the baby shower games you play.
The Internet offers a plethora of shower gift options for you, whether you’re hosting a baby shower or just going as a guest. I found my baby shower presents online, along with almost all of the items I needed for my wedding as well. It’s easy, convenient and there is just such a fantastic selection of party favors to choose from for almost any occasion you can think of.

Groovy Memory Book!
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009We go through a lot of days that we’d like to remember forever in our lifetimes. There is your bridal shower, wedding day, baby showers and so many more ocassions you want to hang on to the memories of. I keep these memories alive with my memory books, which are some of my most treasured possessions. I have my girls night out photo memory book from the night my sister and my friends threw me a fantastic wedding shower. I’ve got so many great pics of that very special night I shared with my friends. I’ve got pictures of the lovely decorations they had for my party and all the places we went that night, and all the fun things we did. We really had a wild time and I’ve got super photos to prove it. We went to a spot where there were male dancers and snapped a few photos there. They didn’t have any trouble holding our attention. I won’t soon forget my only night watching men dance like that. They may not be as famous as the Chippendale dancers, but these were more than entertaining, that’s for sure.
When I chose all the accessories and reception supplies for our wedding, I also made sure I had a memory book for our photos of the wedding and reception. We had no shortage of pictures to put in it. In fact I knew to buy a couple of them, so I’d have enough space for all the pictures. Even after filling our wedding photo album with pictures there were still many photos left to find places for. On certain pages in one of the picture album books were places for the guests we invited to write their names down. They were both lovely personalized memory books with my first initial on the left, the initial of our last name, and on the right my husbands first initial. The fabric on the book is very pretty, and with that and the satin ribbon on them, they really are quite charming. Fortunately, you can add pages to them if you have to, which of course we did.
I made sure that I had books to hold all my memories of every important event in my life so far. The number of keepsake memory books I have will only go up since I hang on to them all. Baby shower books, a wedding book, and the one from that bachelorette party are the ones that I have currently. My boy is one year old and my daughter’s about to turn three. My son has a blue book and my daughter has a pink one; we got the right colors because we found out what they’d be before they were born. I keep everything from their christenings to their first steps in these books. We have fingerprints, birth certificates, and regular pictures of them in the baby memory books. I slipped an official invitation from the showers and wedding in each album as well. I have so many memories stored in our closet that I could probably start my own picture gallery.
I intend to keep the memories of those wonderful days alive for the rest of my life, and I plan on keeping my memory books in the closet, no matter how much my husband keeps complaining. With the new video camera I just bought, it’s going to be a little different, because now I have to clear room on some shelves in the den for the videos I’ll be making. With all the videos I plan to record and all the picture albums and memory books I’ve acquired, not to mention all that I intend to aquire, I’ll probably have to make more room in other closets around the house. What can I say, my recollections of the past mean a lot to me. These years ahead are really important to a mom and I don’t want to miss out on one minute of it.

Special Keepsake Gifts
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009I decided that the day I got married was going to be a memorable day for everyone that was close to me. The presents and favors I got everyone were things that could be treasured for a lifetime. The gifts I bought were meant to be reminders of what an outstanding wedding day and night we had together. Eventually I got to a keepsake gift after picking out keepsake gifts. There were plenty of plans and products available online for creating an enjoyable wedding day experience. All of the things that I needed for my reception were there
I had a florist come in and make up darling arrangements to put in the middle of each reception table, and alongside them were little ceramic pots with lace that held candles inside. My place card holders were adorable, and I got those on the web as well
I found some precious little picture frames with beads around them that I could use for my place card holders. I made up my mind that the people at my wedding woud get practical favors that, afterwards, would be wonderful keepsakes gifts. I just never saw the point to giving out wedding favors that no one can get any use out of. Otherwise, the recipient of the gift will most likely forget about it shortly after they get it. My loved ones were going to get something they’d genuinely appreciate, if I had anything to say about it. Since almost everyone drinks coffee or tea, I got all of the people at our reception a bistro coffee mug. They attractive and you can get good use out of them, too. They came in their own little packages, so I didn’t have to worry about finding favor boxes, I just ordered some festive hang tags to put on each one.
Reception supplies and accessories were easy to find on the world wide web. One super item we picked out was our wedding cake topper. I decided to go with something with special meaning to us.
Playing football in a friend’s yard is what we were doing the first time we met. I got a couple in wedding garb in the middle of a football game to remind us that his first move on me was when he was trying to tackle me. When I look at the wedding cake topper, I think of both our wedding day and the day he first tried to tackle me. [spin]I was really surprised that I had found such a novel wedding cake topper as this one was, and not only that, I also found gorgeous wedding

Glorious Wedding Guest Book Online!
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009Planning a wedding and reception can be a very hectic and exciting time, filled with so many options on what to choose for themes, decorations, etc. I know that when I tried to assist my daughter in planning her wedding, the biggest challenge was trying to get her to settle on one choice. First she didn’t know if she wanted a themed wedding or if she would rather go with a traditional ceremony and reception. She studied every possible variety that we could think of, and she just ended up getting more and more confused. For her special day, she thought about building the wedding around a lakeshore setting, and then she considered a wedding in an outdoor garden setting. After all the debating, she ended up with the traditional. When she eventually made that decision, it allowed us to get the preparations underway.
The invites had been delivered, the banquet hall for the reception was booked, and the church was rented out. She had her gown and the wedding party attire was all taken care of, so mostly what we had to concentrate on now, was the reception supplies and decorations. In addition to finding a wedding guest book and a picture album, there were some other things that we had to pick out yet. A lot of the many wedding guest book sets we found had gorgeous art work on them. A substantial number of the sign-in books had wedding pens that went with them, and they were just as pretty. We weren’t quite done picking things out yet and my daughter saw this wedding set with a white satin cover and bow, with rhinestones, that had six pieces. There was a lovely unity candle, ring pillow, flower basket and wedding garter. These satin items were together with a wedding guest book set. It was astonishing to us to see that many charming accessories and supplies for so low a cost. We found a photo book for the wedding where you could put little mementos and crafts. Talk about a wonderful picture book to cherish your memories with.
Finally we were down to the cake topper, place card holders and wedding favors. Everything else was taken care of. Our blushing bride picked out a pair of glazed porcelain doves to use as her cake topper. That wedding cake topper will make a lovely keepsake. Every guest got a place card holder at the reception that was silver and in the shape of a picture frame. The people at the reception would be able to use the frames once the dinner was over, and my daughter thought that was a something they’d like. The products she bought for her special day ended up being very good choices. She bought a lot of items at discount prices, so she saved a little money and plans on putting that towards their honeymoon.
The wedding ceremony was absolutely fantastic and the reception was gorgeously decorated and got a lot of positive comments. Their first dance together made us all realize what a handsome couple this really was. I think my feet are still sore from tearing up the dance floor, but I’ll never foget what a magical night that was, and it was worth every second. My little girl was now a wife and would someday be a mother, maybe with a daughter of her own. I’m sure that when the time comes to pick out accessories and gifts for the baby shower, I’ll know right where to go. Anything you need to plan, any kind of get-together, is on that site. That’s the first place I look to buy things for any party.

Lovely Wholesale Wedding Candle
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009You can find so many ideas for thank you gifts for your guests that share you wedding and reception with you. You can choose from a variety of picture frame place card holders, whimsical little novelty gifts for beach themes and others, and many more selections of gifts. I chose to go with candle wedding favors because they are very decorative, and you can get a lot of use out of a gift like that. I bought hang tags that I found to be very special to go with the colorful favor boxes for everyones gift.
For each of our reception tables I ordered beautiful candle weddings, just for display. They really looked nice with all the other decorations and the lovely centerpieces I got from the florist. When I was looking for favors, I found candles for other occasions too, like a lovely wedding unity candle for someone that’s throwing a bridal shower, and candle party favors for graduations, birthdays and more. It’s not just candles that my online store has, but they do have a heck of a selection of wedding and other party supplies and accessories.
With all the accessories necessary for a nice wedding and reception, I was really lucky to find a nice five piece accessory set, which included my guestbook, wedding pen set, ring pillow and bridal garter and a really gorgeous little flower girl basket. Buying it in a set was less expensive than buying each piece individually. That’s another thing I like about where I got our wedding supplies, the prices are so reasonable, and they even had discount candles wedding favors.
The cake topper we ordered was really unique and was worth a lot more than what it cost us. Our guests got a real kick out of our cake topper because the bride and groom looked just like us. All I had to do was send them a head shot picture of me and my fiance and they did the rest. The wedding cake itself was pretty magnificent too, with three tiers of chocolate perfection and gorgeous red and and pink flowers all around it. The calla lily cake serving set was one that I just absolutely went nuts over and it just looked so delicate lying next to our beautiful cake.
For our wedding table we decided on getting the champagne flutes made especially for the bride and groom, but the guests all got beautiful crystal champagne glasses they could keep as an extra party favor. We figured it would make more sense to let our guests have them as souveniers then to try to find a place to put 200 champagne flutes. We had enough momentos of our wedding day, like our photo album, topper, wedding guestbook with all the signatures and so much more. Our lovely five piece set that I ordered in gorgeous claret, had our guest book with a small area for little keepsakes, pages for the guests to put their names and list the gifts each guest brought. I think the guest book is important, not only to have everyones’ name that attended, but for later use when you are filling out thank you notes. It makes your guests appreciate the thank you notes with you remember what they gave you in way of wedding gifts.
Some of our friends and family complimented me on my choice of unique candle wedding favors as their thank you gifts, and told me how much they liked them. I guess I picked out the right gifts. Everyone also told me what a great time they were having at the reception, and as we were leaving they all gave us their best wishes for a happy life. This day in my life, I will always remember and cherish.

Found Some Beautiful High-Quality Engagement Party Invitations
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009I made a list of everything I’d have to buy for my best friend’s bridal shower, and then once I had that, I got to work. Goal number one was finding a birthday party invitation. I checked out what the Internet had to offer because I don’t really like the hassle of shopping from store to store. Boy, did I luck out in that department. I was really surprised to find so much and at such great prices. The price I paid on some things were almost criminal. The bridal shower invitations were really nice with silver writing on the front and pearl embossed borders. It wasn’t a place that specialized in bridal acessories, either; they had basic party invitations and birthday party invitations, too, along with other things.
There were some great little accessories for my shower too, like place card holders for all the little tables I had set up. The wedding guest book was another present I purchased; it would help the couple keep good records of who gave them which gifts. One style of place card holders caught my fancy. They had these little plastic handbags that I filled with colorful little candies and found place cards with pink lilies printed on them. Next to the other decorations and presents, they were a real eye-catcher. There’s no type of party that doesn’t have a gift box designed for it. The boxes I selected had floral designs, and I piled them neatly on a cake platter and set them on the table with all the presents. It looked very decorative like that and each lady just took a gift from the plate. I picked out a few kinckknacks as awards for winning the bridal shower activities we were going to play, and the thank you presents were sets that had everything you’d need to give a manicure. I found some random things to hand out as awards, such as unique key rings, little vanity mirrors, and special soaps.
Party game suggestions abound on the Internet. There was a real funny one called ‘Take It Off ‘ where everyone puts a paper bag over their heads and then the hostess tells everyone to remove one article, and you’d be surprised how many ladies don’t think to remove the bag. It’s comical to watch that game unfold, and it’s a good way to see just how smart your friends are. We had a hoot playing bridal bingo and some other activities, too. Deciding to surf the web was an excellent thing to do since I saw all kinds of things I could use and a good portion of them were very affordable. I know I got a super deal on the favors and invitations I picked out. The things I purchased were well made, and I spent a lot whole less than I thought I would have to, and had a whole lot more choices. I had to tell the bride to be all about this website I go to, because they have an awesome selection of wedding invitations and favors too, and I thought she should know about it. She’ll have a lot of options when she uses this site, and it will save her a pretty penny, which all newlyweds need. The bridal shower wouldn’t have been as good without it. The attendees all adored their presents and had a wonderful time. The people who took the time to go to the shower will all get thank you cards, which I’m working on now. Which, by the way, I also ordered online. With all the web has to offer, I’m helping my friend plan her sons’ birthday party.

Fabulous Mikasa Wedding Favors
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009I went to a wedding last week where they had mikasa crystal accessories on all of the reception tables. On every table were lovely mikasa weddings and mikasa crystal glasses. What excellent taste the bride has in decorating a wedding and reception tables. With all the mikasa accessories she had on the tables, it was a picture of elegance.
They had lovely little place card holders that were the cutest silver doves, with bride and groom placecards on their tails. Her centerpieces were quite lovely too and really helped to bring out the ambience of all the accessories she had decorated the tables with. For her centerpieces she had lovely pillar candles with a floral garnish surrounding them. Their choice of wedding favors were something to acknowledge too. Mikasa crystal wedding favors were given to each and every one of us. They chose lovely little gift boxes with hang tags that said thank you to package our gorgeous mikasa crystal favors in.
Deep chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese topping each of the five layers with the fantastic wedding cake they had. As the cake topper she had a really unique idea. She found a place online where she got most of her accessories and supplies that make customized cake toppers. All she had to do was send in a couple of head shots of her and her fiance and they customized bride and groom figurines that look exactly like the happy couple. It looked just like them. I had to find out where she ordered her wedding accessories from, the cake topper would be great for my mom and dads’ renewal wedding for their anniversary.
The garter toss was really a riot, I laughed so hard. Watching the looks on the guys faces as the groom removed the garter from the brides leg, was priceless. Then watching them fall all over each other, trying to be the lucky guy to catch it. What was really funny was that the winner of the garter toss was talked into participating by the other guys and he was a widower in his 70’s. There was a big smile on the old mans face as he walked off with the garter in his hand.
To toast the bride and groom we were given champagne flutes that had the bride and grooms name printed on them with the date of the wedding ceremony, and we got to take these home as keepsakes of the celebration. After the toast it was time for the bride and groom to take their place on the dance floor for their first dance together as husband and wife. They looked so fantastic up there dancing together. When the bride and grooms dance was finished, everyone joined them for the next song. I know I went overboard on the dancing, my feet hurt all night long.
We all wished the bride and groom good luck as they left for their honeymoon. One of the other guests told me they were honeymooning in Hawaii. They’ll have a honeymoon to equal this fabulous wedding and reception. The rest of us partied until we couldn’t party no more.
I received my thank you note for my gift and my presence at the wedding and reception, after only two weeks. I was surprised to receive a thank you so soon. She did let me in on her secret online wedding shopping site, where she supplied the mikasa wedding and ordered that customized cake topper from. I’m ordering what I need for my parents anniversary wedding party today.

Founf this Elegant Affordable Jewelry Box
Monday, August 3rd, 2009In my day, jewelry boxes were just a box that all the jewelry went in, but now, you can buy watch jewelry boxes, earring jewelry boxes and boxes that are specifically made for necklaces only. There are a lot of very decorative ideas for the many different types of boxes. The women who stood up in my daughter’s wedding all got a jewelry box from her, and she picked one out for herself as well. That was just the beginning of what I discovered while surfing the web for gift ideas. No matter what look your going for at your wedding, a specific theme or a more customary look, you’ll find loads of suggestions there. Prince Charming and his lovely princess was the theme that my daughter and her fiance went for. It was an incredible sight to behold when he stood waiting, in his majestic tuxedo as she walked down the isle in a dress that would have made Cinderella jealous. It really was a beautiful wedding. A horse drawn carriage with a driver in classical attire swept the two of them away from the church after the ceremony was over.
The reception had small white lights to add with the tulle that was draped above and tall flower vases scattered all about the room. The tables at the reception had silvery sparkles and wonderful flower arrangements, and the bride and groom table sat in front of an arrangement of red and white roses with ivy strung along an arch. For place card holders she found these silver dove tea light holders that really added glimmer to her settings. All the lady guests received small jewelry boxes with sculpted flowers and little crystals to add to its beauty. The men were given little key chains with the well known frog prince as a charm. The discount jewelry boxes for the bridesmaids had black velvet-lined interiors and were made of wood and sliver-plated. Each box had the name and of the bride and groom and the wedding date etched in them. The thank you gift my daughter gave the girls was very warmly received. It was a box like I used to have, I had no idea it was a jewelry box, it was so expensive looking. The guys all got wine gifts sets with their names engraved on a small plaque. I felt those were novel thank you gift ideas.
Her wedding cake topper was a really unique little dream castle that really showed off the lovliness of their three tiered wedding cake. The cake knife set and champagne glasses meshed perfectly together with the cake. The amount of money she saved was staggering considering that she didn’t skimp on quality. As mother and father of the bride, we felt obligated to cover the cost of the wedding, but they were adamant about not accepting our assistance.
The first dance for the bride and groom was like something in a movie, and it was very emotional for me. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. We had a fantastic time at the reception and the garter toss was unbelievably funny, with all the guys pushing and shoving each other out of the way so they could be the one to catch Cinderellas garter. My baby girl’s fantasies were fulfilled on a glorious wedding day, with all of her close friends and family members to share it with. Her ideal honeymoon is where they are at the moment, and I’m sure it will be wonderful, too. She promised to tell me all about the great places they went to while on their honeymoon, as soon as she gets home.

Cheap Groomsmen Gifts!
Monday, August 3rd, 2009After being told about a website that had reasonable prices and a super selection of accessories for both wedding ceremonies and receptions, I decided to take a look for myself. She spoke the truth, everything from wedding invitations to exquisite little thank you gifts for the guests that could save us quite a bit. They even carry super groomsmen gifts and bridesmaids gifts along with all the other fantastic wedding items they have to offer. Naturally, after getting a look at their inventory, I made the decision to order all my needed wedding supplies and decorations at their online store.
First of all, we decided to have a winter wonderland theme wedding since we were getting married in December, and I found so much to work with. First I ordered winter wonderland wedding bulletins to use as our wedding invitations. I lucked out when looking for my flower basket and ring pillow because I found a five piece wedding set that had both, plus a guestbook and pen set, and a nice leg garter to go along with it. I thought it would cost a lot more than it did for the matching five piece set. I read about how now that a lot of churches don’t allow petals to be thrown at the bride and groom at the ceremony, that many couples are having the guests blow bubbles instead. So I ordered bottles of bubbles from this online shopping site I’m using and they also send you little bubble cards for each bottle.
You’d be surprised at the marvelous accessories I bought from there. We also ordered our gifts for the bridesmaids, flower girl, ring boy and the rest of the wedding party. My fiance was happy that they had so many cool groomsmen wedding gifts ideas for him to choose from.
The groomsman favors of his choosing were glass mugs that had the word groomsman printed on the mug. Since the cheap groomsman gift and the rest of the people in our wedding was taken care of, I could shop for favors for our friends and family. There were so many wonderful gift ideas for a winter wedding to give to our guests. As thank you gifts, I chose glass votive candles with a frosty winter theme, for all of our guests. The glass candles had wintery snowflakes all over it. Every candle was packaged in a decorative favor box with a silver hang tag on them.
The little snow ball ornament place card holders I bought make great little thank you gifts too. There was so much for a beautiful winter wonderland themed wedding, like our cake server set, our champagne flutes and even our funny wedding cake topper. I asked the baker to turn our top layer of the wedding cake into a ski slope, since the topper I picked was of a bride and groom on skis. Our wedding cake was confection perfection and I wanted as many pictures of it as I could get for our beautiful winter wedding album. After we cut the cake and had our toast done by my super brother in law, it was time for our bride and groom dance. I really felt like a princess in some kind of dream world while we glided across the floor, with everyone watching.
Everyone was having a fantastic time and this reception was perfection from beginning to end. All of my girls in the wedding party loved their thank you gifts as did the guys and their wedding groomsmen gifts. We also got quite a few compliments from our wedding guests about the decorations and the lovely wedding favors they received.

Unbelievable Selection of Groom Wedding Gifts!
Monday, August 3rd, 2009Be it a subdued engagement party or a more risque bachelor or bachelorette party, there are going to be some favors and gifts given out. There are a lot of neat little gifts that you can give your bride and groom to be at these parties. A number of the gifts my husband and I got were rather remarkable. Of course plain old money works just fine, and that’s what our engagement party gifts consisted of for the most part, but there were a lot of more creative presents as well. We got baseball tickets, gift certificates, wedding champagne, and a lot of small things along those lines. A lot of our loved ones gave us presents, even though it was not required for engagement parties.
At my husbands bachelor party the guys bought him some cool tee shirts that had things printed on it like, how he survived his bachelor party and one that just said groom on the front. A mug with groom on it was another bride and groom gift he got, along with a sun visor and set of wine bottles that were made for a man about to get married. He also got to keep the ball and chain they made him wear all night and an inflatable woman they gave him as gag gifts. He got other mock groom gifts besides, that gave them all some laughs. My girls night out party was fantastic too and I got a lot of gag gifts, but also quite a few nice bride gifts too. They gave me a shimmering white satin purse with a clasp made of crystal on it and a ribbon on top to boot. Inside the bag they had put little gifts like a manicure set, a girls night out tee shirt, a bride to be brooch and a few little necessities a girl likes to have with her. I loved this pillow they gave me which had the word ‘tonight’ embroidered on a side, and then you turned it over and it read ‘not tonight’. It was certainly the most unique throw pillow I’ve ever seen.
On the other hand, the bride and groom wedding gifts we got the reception were all more serious. We got about three toasters, four blenders and lots of waffle irons, but that is to be expected when you have so many people attending your wedding. We filled out a bridal registry and we received a food processor and china from that, along with some other things I had written down. My husband just adored the billards table and bar set that his parents gave us, and I know we will get a lot of use out of that. The plane tickets to get to the Greek Isles for our honeymoon came from my folks. We received a lot of wonderful gifts on our wedding day from our loving families and fantastic friends.
Having all our friends and family around us on this more than special day meant more to us than anything. We were able to spend our engagement party, wedding, and reception with them, and we are so glad about that. Being surrounded with great, supportive people like them is what makes life so much more enjoyable. It also helps to have friends that care enough to throw you a wild night with a bachelor party or a mind trippin girls night out bash. There is never a dull moment in our lives with the super great friends we have. We will send out thank you cards to all our friends and family, but that doesn’t really show just how much we adore them.

Coolest Shower Duck Favor!
Monday, August 3rd, 2009When I picked the theme for the baby shower, I couldn’t help but think of Ernie on Sesame Street and his favorite bathtub song of ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One.’ It seemed like a longshot, but I checked to see if there were any duck baby shower available anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. They are really so cute and it was a lot better than I thought it would be with all the online shopping help I got for ideas. You can can a ton of different duck favors online, not just for showers but for birthday parties for younger kids as well.
I was holding the shower in my rec room in the basement so I had plenty of room to set up indivdual tables to seat four guests at each. I got a yellow ducky cake with a couple of layers, the bottom one of which said baby girl in red frosting, and then I put that next to plates, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and other deserts; on a table on the other side of the room, I put all of the baby shower presents. There were posters of Donald and Daisy Duck, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the Disney cast all over the place, and the Daisy Duck one was huge.
The place card holders I bought and put out at the shower were miniature pink picture frames that had a little ducky in each of the corners. There were duck favor candles at each table too and on the buffet table were paper plates, cups and napkins all with little baby ducks on them and even the punch bowl was unique. I went to a department store and purchased a little duck shaped baby bathtub and placed a glass punch bowl inside. It was really kind of cute. I also bought duck molds and filled them with yellow colored water for duck shaped ice cubes. I went all out on this duck themed shower.
Other than a few things that people at school suggested to me, I borrowed most of my ideas from things I saw online. I got a baby shower duck favor that was a candle holder, and some duck shower favors that were rubber ducky bookmarks. Everyone thought they were so cute and they made super party gifts for the games we played too.
I filled a square tub with water and, prior to any guests arriving, I put a bunch of duck bath toys in it. On the bottom of the ducks I wrote numbers and as the guests arrived they each had to pick a duck out of the little pond. We gave out a prize for the person who had the winning number, which I pulled out of a hat a bit later during the shower. We had a lot of fun with the guess the baby picture game, too. The guests were told in advance to take a baby picture of theirs to the shower with them, and then we put them all on a board and put the board in the front of the room. Everyone looked over the photos and tried to figure out which picture belonged to which person who was present at the shower. The winner was the person who guessed right on the most of them, and they were awarded a shower favor.
We had a lot of fun, great laughs and the mother to be got some really neat gifts for her little girl. I’m very happy with the amount of help I got from going on the Internet. I pulled off one heck of a baby shower, even though it seemed pretty far-fetched at first. The duck theme really was a cute idea.

Astonishing Energy 8 Hour Shot
Monday, August 3rd, 2009
In a time where Americans will drive the extra mile to save a few pennies on fuel, there is a booming new industry of energy drinks that goes for 20 times more per-oz than Coke – energy shots.
More and more people are turning away from $3 coffee, in favor of these $3 2-ounce energy shots – and most of them taste bad.
The demand for energy shots is expected to double this year, reaching $700 mil in sales – and a majority of those sales will be of Living Essentials’ 5 Hour Energy shot, the first energy shot on the market.
Other companies have sprung up, in an attempt to capture some of this new energy drink market – products like 6 Hour Power, Fuel 7 Hour Energy, and Mr. Energy 8 Hour Energy are all competing to tap into the energy shot world.
8 Hour Energy, though the name is similar, has taken the industry a few steps further. While the others merely contain caffeine, it includes Acai, Gogi, and Tahitian Noni – three berries known for their natural energizing and dietary properties. Currently, the only other way to get a serving of Acai berry is to purchase a $40 bottle.
Aside from the health-benefits, The 8 Hour shot contains no calories or carbs, and it tastes great!
“I’ve seen the 5 Hour ads plastered all over the media. But if people read the labels before they buy, I think they’ll go for 8 Hour Energy. It’s just a better quality product,” says Darin Steen, one of the top ranked health and fitness instructors in the world.
In a double-blind taste-test, 9 of 10 college students preferred 8 Hour Energy over 5 Hour Energy. Other groups were given samples of the Mr Energy 8 Hour Energy shot, and returned with overwhelmingly positive reviews.
“Wow… after taking the 8 Hour Energy, not only was I able to stay up to study for finals, I picked up a basketball game after! Without it, I probably wouldn’t have managed to do either,” said Troy Smith – a Finance major.
“8 Hour Energy shots are amazing. I stayed energized and focused, and totally aced my final. It’s like time in a bottle,” said Stephanie Wilcox, a grad student in the UF School of Dentistry.
Despite the massive 60 million dollar advertising budget of 5 Hour Energy, Bhelliom Enterprises, the creator of 8 Hour Energy, is confident their product will succeed due simply to its superior ingredients. “The ingredients speak for themselves,” says Bhelliom Enterprises’ CEO, Casey McCarthy.
